We are not a quick-fix, symptom-chasing, insurance-driven clinic-and we're proud of that. We don't offer generic protocols, rushed appointments, or a one-size-fits-all approach to health. If you're looking for a pill-for-every-ill model or reactive care that starts and ends with lab results, we may not be the right fit - but if you value proactive, personalized, and integrative care that honors the complexity of the human body and the importance of long-term relationships, you're in the right place.

“The physician must investigate the entire patient, his diet and his environment,” wrote Hippocrates. “The best physician is the one who is able to prevent illness.”
We believe there is a specific hierarchy to exceptional clinical care, one that fundamentally begins by understanding and addressing effectively the complex relationship between a patient and their unique environment and lifestyle. It’s a discipline of addition through subtraction where less becomes more and “appropriate care (value)” is valued above “additional care (volume).”
We subscribe to the Oslerian tradition where the art of physicianship still exists in healthcare, and health is promoted by the assessment and management of the whole person. As Sir William Osler taught, “The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease.”
We know there is a specific, natural hierarchy to exceptional healthcare, fundamentally ecological and sociological at its core. Hippocrates taught physicians more than two millennia ago that true healthcare should first prioritize investigating the powerful relationship between a patient, their unique environment and their lifestyle - and healthcare models operating outside of this philosophy have consistently proven to be incomplete, insufficient care. Two thousand years later, the contemporary health sciences have finally caught up to support this ancient methodology, and we exist at the vanguard of integrating the two in progressive ways to achieve improve long-term patient outcomes.Regardless of where we meet our patients on the spectrum of the human experience, we first examine them in context: their lifestyle habits, including nutrition, exercise, stress, and sleep. Leveraging the most expansive physical examination and array of diagnostics in Atlanta, we combine the precision and depth of Functional Medicine with the patient-specificity and accountability of professional health coaching to unravel the intricate tapestry of your health, which we use to craft a professionally tailored care plan perfectly aligned with your individual needs and aspirations, offering an ongoing bridge of support throughout the entire care plan. As Sir William Osler taught, “The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease.” Every patient has their own story. Each unique story has the potential to be rich in achievement and robust in fulfilment, transcending any limitation from a preventable illness and infirmity. Live a life without physical limitations and leave no stories left untold. Your serious wellness journey begins here.Real Patients; Real Stories

Dr. Jason McCloskey’s educational background reflects a multidisciplinary integration of exercise science, biochemistry, psychology, clinical neuroscience, functional medicine, and rehabilitative healthcare. His formal education and professional training began in 2010, when he earned his Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) credential through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). In 2012, he graduated from Georgia College & State University with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Exercise Science, concentrating in Biochemistry and Psychology, establishing a foundation in human physiology, biomechanics, exercise prescription, and the biological and psychological determinants of health and performance. That same year, he earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), further developing his expertise in athletic development, performance optimization, and evidence-informed exercise programming.
Building upon this foundation, Dr. McCloskey earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from Parker University in 2017, expanding his clinical education in neuromusculoskeletal medicine, differential diagnosis, physical examination, and conservative healthcare. During this period, he pursued additional postgraduate education through Apex Seminars, completing advanced coursework in Functional Endocrinology (2017), Mastering Brain Chemistry (2017), and Mastering Functional Blood Chemistry (2017), followed by Mastering the Thyroid (2018). These programs broadened his understanding of neuroendocrine physiology, biochemical regulation, metabolic dysfunction, and the clinical interpretation of laboratory biomarkers.
Recognizing the central role of the nervous system in human health, development, behavior, and performance, Dr. McCloskey pursued extensive postgraduate training in clinical neuroscience and functional neurology. In 2018, he completed the 300-hour Clinical Neuroscience Program through the Carrick Institute and undertook a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Childhood Neurodevelopmental Disorders (FIBFN-CND-H) through the Interdisciplinary Association of Functional Neurosciences and Rehabilitation. He subsequently completed an additional 150 hours of Functional Neurology Seminars through the International Functional Neurology Board in 2019. This advanced training further developed his clinical interests in neurodevelopment, sensorimotor integration, vestibular and oculomotor function, neuroplasticity, and neurological rehabilitation.
Dr. McCloskey continued expanding his clinical education into systems biology, immunology, and personalized medicine. In 2022, he completed the Functional Immunology Course through Cogence Immunology and pursued Functional Medicine Advanced Practice Modules through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). These educational experiences strengthened his understanding of immune regulation, chronic inflammation, metabolic and endocrine interactions, environmental influences, and the complex relationships between physiological systems. In 2023, he completed DUTCH Mastering Functional Hormone Testing, further advancing his knowledge of steroid hormone physiology, endocrine assessment, hormone metabolism, and the interpretation of comprehensive hormonal biomarkers.
Complementing his formal education, Dr. McCloskey has pursued advanced postdoctoral training in laboratory interpretation and clinical diagnostics, participating in specialized educational programs and training opportunities offered by Apex Seminars, Boston Heart Diagnostics, Bristle, Cyrex Laboratories, Doctor’s Data, Genova Diagnostics, Immunosciences Lab, Mosaic Diagnostics, Precision Analytical, Precision Point Diagnostics, US BioTek, and Vibrant Wellness. This continuing education spans a wide range of diagnostic disciplines, including cardiovascular and metabolic biomarkers, clinical biochemistry, functional immunology, endocrine evaluation, gastrointestinal and microbiome testing, nutritional status, environmental exposures, and other specialized laboratory assessments. His ongoing studies emphasize the appropriate interpretation of complex diagnostic findings within the broader context of a patient's clinical history, physical examination, health behaviors, and individual physiology.
Collectively, Dr. McCloskey’s educational background represents an evolving commitment to interdisciplinary clinical reasoning, evidence-informed practice, systems-based healthcare, and individualized patient care. By integrating exercise physiology, clinical neuroscience, functional medicine, laboratory diagnostics, and rehabilitation sciences, his approach seeks to understand not only the presence of disease or dysfunction but also the physiological mechanisms, environmental influences, behavioral patterns, and adaptive capacities that shape each individual's health. This breadth of training informs the clinical philosophy of Arete Health, where comprehensive assessment, patient education, preventative strategies, and personalized interventions work together to support long-term health, resilience, and human performance.
